Tuesday March 31st saw the THIRD Chequers fund-raiser, a superb darts evening at The Drum and Monkey pub in Gloucester Road, Croydon. Top marks to Gary Jeal and his staff for organising the event.

Great fun was had by all but it must officially go on the record that the girls cheated and heckled their way to a dubious victory over the men. Chequers employee, Lee, deserves a special mention for raising extra cash for our event by betting everyone he could climb through two narrow bar stools... which he successfully did! Any chance you’d like to perform a similar feat on the big night Lee?

We must also mention The Drum and Monkey landord, Pawan Raj, who put on a splendid spread for the hungry fund-raisers and also entered into the spirit of things. Great pub it has to be said. If you’re ever in the area, well worth a visit!
